TANYA BAKES: SPIDER COOKIES🕸

This recipe was taken from Tanya Burr’s #TanyaBakes. I used her recipe for (not so) mini chocolate cookies and changed them to suit the Halloween spirit! I will leave the original recipe linked here, but carry on reading for my halloween version…🕸🎃👻

50g milk chocolate chips

50g white chocolate chips

Preheat your oven to 180º/ 350ºF/ GM4. Line 2 baking trays with grease proof paper.

In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and mix, then add the flour and chocolate chips to make a dough.

Place a small ball of dough in your hand and once rounded poke a small hole in the middle of it.

Spoon in a small mixture of chocolate spread or peanut butter and then cover over with a little more dough.

Place on the baking tray and squash down slightly.

Repeat until all the dough has been used. Leave space between each cookie as they spread.

Bake for 15-20 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly

This second part is optional

Once they have cooled slightly, cut the malteasers in half and push both halves down into the cookie until firm.

Repeat this process with all the cookies.

When the cookies are completely cooled, melt the milk chocolate in the microwave in 30 second intervals.

Using a sandwich bag with the end cut off, carefully pipe the melted chocolate to make legs, using the malteaser as the body.

Repeat this process with all the cookies.

Once that chocolate has set, melt the white chocolate in the microwave in 30 second intervals.

Using a sandwich bag with the end cut off, carefully mark 2 dot on the head to make eyes.

Repeat this process with all the cookies.
